No US sales tax

Stop paying 7% tax on your US shopping

Your Swiftbox Miami address is a Florida-registered forwarding-agent address. Most US stores — Amazon included — drop the 7% Florida sales tax the moment you ship there. No forms. No fee. It is already switched on.

Florida sales tax only. T&T customs duty, VAT and OPT still apply on arrival, and each store decides whether to apply the exemption.

What it saves you

7% of every order, straight back in your pocket

Florida charges 6% state sales tax plus a 1% Miami-Dade surtax. Ship to a forwarding-agent address and you pay neither.

If a store still charges tax

We will help you claim it back

Florida law lets a retailer accept the certificate — it does not force them to. Most big names apply it automatically; a handful do not, and some will not ship to a forwarding address at all.

If you get charged, WhatsApp us your order number. We will send you the certificate and a ready-to-send email to the retailer. The refund comes from them, not from us — but the certificate is usually all they need.

Straight answers

The questions everybody asks

Is this legal?
Yes. It is written into Florida law. Section 212.06(5)(b) of the Florida Statutes lets a selling dealer skip Florida sales tax on goods shipped to a registered forwarding agent's address for export. Our Miami facility holds Florida Certificate of Forwarding Agent Address No. 85-8019168129C-4, and the Florida Department of Revenue publishes the list of certified forwarding agents so any merchant can check it.
Do I have to do anything to get it?
No forms, no application, no fee. Use your Swiftbox Miami address at checkout exactly as it appears in your dashboard. Most major retailers recognise the ZIP code and drop the tax automatically — check the order summary before you pay.
What if a store still charges me the tax?
Some retailers do not apply it, and a few will not ship to a forwarding address at all. If you are charged, message us on WhatsApp with your order number and we will send you a copy of the certificate plus a ready-to-send email so you can claim the refund from the store. The refund has to come from the retailer — we cannot refund tax we never collected.
Does this reduce my Trinidad customs duty?
No. This is a Florida sales tax exemption. Trinidad & Tobago customs duty, VAT and Online Purchase Tax are separate government charges assessed when your package lands here, and they apply as normal. Use the calculator to see your full landed cost.
Does it cover everything I buy?
It covers goods that are actually leaving the United States — which is everything you ship through Swiftbox. It does not cover anything you buy for use inside the US, and it does not apply to services, digital goods or gift cards.
Is there a catch on the Swiftbox side?
No. The tax-free address is the standard Swiftbox address, free with every account. There is no membership fee, no handling fee for the exemption, and no minimum order.

The exemption is applied by the store, not by Swiftbox. Most major US retailers apply it automatically at checkout; some do not, and we cannot refund Florida sales tax a retailer has already charged — the retailer has to. The exemption covers goods being exported from the United States and has no effect on Trinidad & Tobago customs duty, VAT or OPT, which are assessed on arrival as normal. Swiftbox is not a tax adviser and this page is general information, not tax advice.
