How we compare— where each figure comes from, and every source
Courier charges only, at a US$100 declared value — freight, fuel surcharge and handling at each weight, quoted from each provider's own published rates or calculator on the date shown. The Swiftbox column includes our insurance premium: the US$1 minimum on a 1 lb package, US$2 from 2 lb, either covering declared value up to US$300. Every column was checked on its stated date; nothing here is carried over unchecked. Those rates are each provider's to change, so check their sites for the current figure.
†Web Source and CSF are worked out from each company's own published rate table — their per-pound rate plus the 17% fuel surcharge printed on the same page — because neither calculator could be run. CSF's figure includes their published standard insurance (1% of declared value, US$1.00 here). Web Source publishes nothing about insurance, so treat that column as a floor.
‡Tropical Express also charges a TT$150 annual membership fee, which is not in the figure above. Their brokerage line scales with declared value, which is why this table is stated at a single value.
§Aeropost's figure is their own calculator's “Total aeropost Charges” — freight, warranty and returns, fuel and customs handling — at the pre-alerted rate. A package that is not pre-alerted adds US$2.00.
